Celebrating 10 Years of Marriage Today 10/22/2015

us

Happy 10 Years Married Darcy Franck Ogandaga! Today is our WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! This scripture used to make me cringe. Back then, I refused to shut up, had to make my point with tantrums, boisterous to get his attention and then my walk with Father God began. He would just sit there and look at me and smile. I learned, not from formulas, from momma, but from time with Father God how to settle my spirit and identity the fear of submission. I do not profess to be holier than thou just eager to find peace in my home and through the years, I have learned that (1) Being loud only magnifies your voice not your opinion (2) Identity the fear of submission after all, I have worked on me for a long time. Why would I want to now give myself as a project to someone else. STOP IT. You don’t have to (3) Quiet the noise of my unmarried friends who knew so much. Stop looking outward for people to solve your situations cause between Google, Blogs, and Magazines, they can do that real good (4) Dismiss the biased opinions of family & some friends that did not understand that being married to a man of African decent does not mean control. People are real good at bulking you up. Why do you think every fight on the street is surrounded by people cheering the conflict on until that ONE PERSON comes to clear the crowd? Hummmm. When you can put tradition in its proper place, YOUR CULTURE BECOME CHRIST 1st. (5) Make love often. Whether it is acts of service, dancing in the house to Earth, Wind, & Fire or time in the bedroom, floor, or whatever (come on married people), make time for love AND FINALLY, (6) Put YOUR HOPE, YOUR PEACE, YOUR JOY in Christ ALONE! Love the gift that God has blessed you with in your mate and enjoy each and every day. Bebejoufloue loves you DJ Darcy B~

It’s easy to name every excuse in the book as to why we are attracted to glitter and gold. Underneath the glitter and gold lies the truth of our situation and the pain of what we have been running from. Past hurts, old wounds, complicated grief that will not settle down in silence to heal.

Every girl dreams of the wedding day wearing that white dress, carrying the flowers, saying I do. Once the marriage takes place, you realize that marriage is the number one development system created by God and the tantrums, meltdowns, and silent trips won’t help you into becoming the person you were created to be.

Rather than looking at the glitter and gold, become still so that your heart can heal. Those things that you carry on the inside of you are magnified in marriage and holding onto distractions from the left and right won’t do. Take the time to know that a few seconds of rolling around in the bed will not fix your brokenness.

Sex does not heal.

Sex does not heal.

It makes you feel good, but sex does not heal.

It’s time to give your heart, your whole heart to your mate but you can not do that if you have not first surrendered your heart to God. He is big enough, strong enough to hold the issues of your past.

At the heart of every orphan is a desire to surrender their heart to someone.

He is waiting.

Happy 3 Year Anniversary Danitaogandaga.com!

3 years

Today as I was preparing to add more product to danitaogandaga.com, I was suddenly hit with the awesome announcement that 3 years ago today, I made the courageous decision to abandon my fears and build this website that would eventually be subscribed to by more than 11,000 people.

When you make a decision to abandon the known for the unknown, that requires a whole heap of courage. I am so grateful for my husband, Darcy Ogandaga, for encouraging me to be the best at what God called me to be and not what the world expects for me to be. He has always been a trendsetter and is always encouraging me to reach beyond my comfort to God’s perfect will for my life.

Anyone can work job from 9-5 but it requires a whole additional type of courage to launch into the deep to create your purpose and execute it on a daily basis whether people are looking or not. I am glad that God loves me and has given me the strength even when I did not believe in myself.
